In Piazza Plebiscito, with the councilor for Health and Green Vincenzo Santagada and the sole director of Asia Domenico Ruggiero, the new environmental inspectors were presented who will have the task of supervising the correct disposal of waste by citizens, businesses and commercial activities. The women and men of the inspector group took part in a training course managed by the Municipality and Asia.
Their contribution will serve to ensure increasingly efficient and effective separate waste collection in the city, also sanctioning any irregularities found with respect to the correct disposal of waste.

Confirming the growing attention to the environment, it was the new Asia fleet of electric vehicles was also presented last generation. These are 177 endothermic and electric-powered vehicles with “zero emissions”. Among these, the new 3.5 ton rammers, equipped with an autonomy of 12 hours and a noise level reduced to 70 decibels.
The choice to focus on these new waste collection vehicles confirms the eco-sustainable vocation of the Municipality and of the in-house company that deals with urban hygiene and waste management.

Present at the presentation of the new inspectors and new vehicles were the mayor of Naples Gaetano Manfredi, together with the environmental councilor Vincenzo Santagata, and among others, the president of the city council Vincenza Amato and the city councilors Luigi Musto, Fulvio Fucito, Gennaro Demetrio Paipais, Gennaro Acampora and Carlo Migliaccio

Finally, asolidarity initiative linked to separate waste collection. Asia, in the presence of the mayor Gaetano Manfredi, symbolically handed over to the association the “Ronda del Cuore” the blankets obtained thanks to the collection of clothing in the city carried out by the Ambiente Solidale cooperative. The voluntary association will take care of the distribution of blankets to homeless people.

As part of the reorganization of the urban hygiene service, in addition to the hiring of ecological operators, drivers and maintenance workers, there has been a significant investment in means to ensure that waste collection is more efficient. – stated the mayor ManfrediThe clean city depends on the company that provides the service, but also on the respect of the rules by the Neapolitans. I rely on the collaboration of citizens because greater responsibility helps to have a cleaner city.
Thanks to the new environmental inspectors we will also have an effective control system on the correctness of waste disposal and compliance with timetables, also improving urban decorum”.

The forty environmental inspectors we have trained – explained thecouncilor Santagadawhich also has responsibility for urban hygiene – they will have the task, first and foremost, of raising citizens’ awareness of compliance with the waste separation rules, both for domestic and non-domestic users. In case of irregularities, sanctions may be applied.
Another important aspect is the renewal of Asia’s fleet of vehicles with an increase in efficiency and a reduction in emissions, but human resources must also be increased because it is fundamental to guarantee a better service”.
