It was the surprise news on day twelve of “IBES”. On Tuesday afternoon, RTL announced that Heinz Hoenig had left the jungle camp. “Our medical team decided today to take him out of the camp as a precaution,” the broadcaster explained about the decision.
While some fans reacted with shock to the exit, there was initially no more precise information about the exact reasons for Heinz’s departure from the camp. In “The Hour After,” however, reporter Sebastian Klimke said that there was one main factor why Heinz left the show earlier than planned. A few hours later, Annika Kärsten-Hoenig spoke up. She gave insights into how her husband is currently doing and speaks plainly on one point.

Klimke continued that it was a “huge relief for everyone” that Heinz could be with his family again. “We’ve seen it in the last few days, he suffered a lot. We also saw here that Anni suffered a lot and the kids,” he continued.
He then emphasized again that the situation was not easy for Heinz Kinder either. The actor stayed in the camp much longer than the family initially thought. “It’s new for the entire family and the children are still so young. If the decision was made medically, it will be the right one. And of course it plays into the family’s hands because they are reunited,” he said further.

Shortly afterwards, Annika, who has been managing Heinz’s Instagram account for the past few days, addressed the fans. She apologized for not reaching out sooner.
Hoenig’s wife gives an update on her health status
“As you heard, events took a bit of a turn yesterday,” said. She once again confirmed Heinz’s departure “for medical reasons”. “I think he himself would have held on even further,” she continued. This confirms RTL’s statement, according to which the decision was not made by Heinz itself, but by the production. Annika continued:
“We all saw that his physical condition had deteriorated a bit. Mentally, Heinz is in a great mood, thank God.”
After the RTL reporter’s statement suggested that mental problems could have led to Heinz moving out, Annika now explains that his condition is good. Annika captioned her statement with the hashtag “King of Hearts.”
Reunion “very emotional” for family
Annika also thanked those responsible for “IBES” once again. “I think it’s very, very responsible of the production that they made this decision and that they don’t take any unnecessary risks,” she said. She revealed that the reunion with Heinz was “very emotional” and announced that she might even post the video of Heinz’s return.
With Heinz’s early departure, he was the second celebrity to voluntarily leave the camp this year.
