Changzhou Launches New Energy Industry-Education Consortium

Changzhou, a city known for its strong industrial presence, took a significant step towards bolstering its education sector with the launch of the national-level Changzhou New Energy Industry-Education Consortium on January 20th. The consortium aims to foster a deep integration of industry and education, creating a mutually beneficial relationship that supports the growth and development of both sectors.

The Changzhou New Energy Industry-Education Consortium, one of the first 28 city-level industry-education consortiums in the country, has 181 members and is committed to creating an integrated ecosystem of production, science, and education. The consortium, which relies on Wujin National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, is led by Changzhou Industrial Vocational and Technical College and Wanbang Digital Energy Co., Ltd., in collaboration with universities, higher vocational colleges, secondary vocational schools, and various government departments, enterprises, scientific research institutions, and social organizations.

The consortium’s focus includes building a strong industrial chain, agglomerating supply chains, optimizing talent development, and refining mechanism chains. Through these efforts, the consortium aims to create a “Changzhou model” of industry-education consortia that can be replicated and used as a reference for the construction of the national modern vocational education system.

During the launch event, a number of joint school-enterprise cooperation projects were signed, and three key planning projects were unveiled. These include the Changzhou New Energy Industry and Education Consortium Smart Cloud Platform, Wanbang Digital Energy’s “Seed Plan” and “Pile Master Plan,” and the Bosch Hydrogen Energy Industry Training Center.

The event was attended by key figures, including Peng Binbai, Director of the Department of Vocational Education and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, Jiang Yong, Director of the Provincial Department of Education, and municipal leaders Pan Dongling, Zhu Zhengqing, and Wan Limei.
