“Military operations are maintained with the purpose of protecting the Colombians who live in this region, due to the criminal behavior of the narcoterrorist group calling itself the Central General Staff of the FARC dissidents,” the institution said in a statement.

The command of the Military Forces directly blamed alias ‘Dumar’ or ‘Chito’, leader of the Alberto Poño Company of the Carlos Patiño structure, of the Central General Staff, for this atrocious act. The situation in the region is delicate, with the constant presence of illegal armed groups that threaten the security and tranquility of the inhabitants. Military operations continue in the rural area of ​​Algeria, Cauca, with the aim of protecting the population and containing the expansion of dissidents.

The victims, identified as Jorge David Fuentes, César Javier Sosa Ballesteros, Camilo Andrés Molina and Jairo Urrego David, are remembered as heroes who sacrificed their lives in service of the country. The country honors his memory and demands justice in the face of this act of violence.
