SAN VITO. Inspection this morning on the Croda Marcora landslide. The Region’s helicopter is flying over the area with geologists on board, who will deliver a report to councilor Gianpaolo Bottacin in the next few years.
The situation is described as being under control by the mayor of San Vito, Emanuele Caruzzo, even if there are still some small discharges of stones and debris.
The bulk of the landslide stopped at the top and is currently stable. The drains are clean and there are no dangers for the population, after the cloud had reached the village last night.
The fact that the Venice fire brigade helicopter mission has been canceled suggests that monitoring is reassuring. The firefighters of the Cortina detachment are returning to the barracks, after having guarded throughout the night and the early hours of the day.
