ASSIGNMENT
The National Police of Ecuador has announced a change in the leadership of Zone 3, which includes the provinces of Tungurahua, Chimborazo, Cotopaxi and Pastaza. EM Police Colonel Mario Geovanny Merino Jara has been appointed as the new commander of this region, as provided by the institutional command.

Colonel Merino, originally from Riobamba and trained in Jurisprudence, has an outstanding professional career of more than 32 years in the police institution. During this time, he has demonstrated his abilities in various areas, including crime prevention, investigations and police intelligence. In his first statements, Colonel Merino expressed his commitment to working in collaboration with the community to improve citizen security in the region.
Its focus will be on increasing the effectiveness of police officers, strengthening citizen confidence, promoting transparency in police management and guaranteeing the well-being and comprehensive development of personnel assigned to Zone 3. This change in leadership occurs in a crucial moment, in which it seeks to address the challenges related to crime and violence in the country.
