With the issuance of the National Fitness Program (2021-2025) (hereinafter referred to as the “Plan”), people everywhere have updated expectations for the development of fitness facilities around the masses in the new cycle, and their needs have become more diverse.

Li Zheng, who lives in Beijing, said that in recent years, Beijing’s fitness facilities for all citizens have undergone a particularly large development, and there are more and more fitness venues around the people. He said: “Like Fengtai District, Beijing, where I live, there are newly built Jialan City Leisure Park and Baipenyao Park. Not only are there national fitness paths, some fitness trails are also built, which is extremely convenient. The masses participate in fitness activities. In the future, I hope that the types of fitness equipment in the fitness venues will be enriched, especially by adding some equipment suitable for teenagers and children.”

Sports venues are one of the most frequently visited places for people to participate in fitness activities. Sun Qinghua, who lives in Shanghai, said after seeing the “Plan”: “The “Plan” sets out clear requirements for the supply of fitness facilities for all citizens in Canada. Promoting the development of national fitness shows the direction. In the future, I hope that more stadiums can be opened to the people at low prices or free of charge, so that everyone can share high-quality venues and facilities and actively participate in national fitness.”

He said: “Schools are more close to the people and closer to the people. The quality of the facilities in many schools is very high. In the future, if more school facilities can be opened, it will make up for the shortcomings of the facilities. At the same time, , I think some professional venues in the school can adopt low-cost fees or membership-based methods, which will benefit the daily maintenance of the venues and the fitness of the people.”

In recent years, ice and snow sports have become a new fitness choice for more and more people, and the people have more demand for the supply of ice and snow sports venues. Chen Cheng, who lives in Guangdong, has been participating in ice and snow sports in recent years. He said: “I hope that there will be more indoor ice rinks in Guangdong. For southerners, ice and snow sports are very interesting, and the number of people participating in ice and snow sports is increasing year by year. In the future, more ice and snow sports venues should be built to allow more people to participate in ice and snow sports, enrich the fitness facilities around the masses, and promote the development of ice and snow sports in our country.”

The expectations of the people are the driving force for the development of national fitness. With the issuance of the “Plan”, in the new cycle, the new expectations of the people will gradually become reality. While promoting the development of national fitness, it will help build a strong sports nation. (Reproduced from the 05 edition of China Sports Daily on August 19)
