First days of activity for the new recruits formed by the Park Authority for guided excursions and the activities of the visitor centers
First days of activity, this weekend, for the new guides and operators of the visitor centers of the Gran Paradiso National Park. The time to officially receive diplomas and uniforms, during a ceremony in Ronco Canavese, and the 19 new guides got to work conducting the first excursions in the protected area. Their activity in the coming months will be intense. During the summer, the Park will propose about eighty short walks suitable for everyone to discover the Valle d’Aosta and Piedmontese valleys of the park, to stay outdoors and enjoy moments of tranquility surrounded by nature. Over the weekend, the 20 new operators of the information centers also began to assist tourists in the Park visitor centers by offering information and promoting the area.
«Thanks to the training course promoted and organized by the Park Authority, the Guides and operators have obtained the tools to be able to offer an adequate service to the new educational philosophies and conscious tourism development. The professional and transversal skills that the course has developed will allow the Guides to keep up with the times and to promote the role of the Park more effectively ”, says the President of the Park, Italo Cerise. «The goal – he adds – is to train a group of loyal operators, who practice the profession in an engaging way, who know how to present themselves in proactive and innovative terms with respect to the territorial reality of the Park. Particular attention will also be dedicated to the development of networked activities with tourist and economic operators (small producers, accommodation facilities, shelters,…) in the area, creating virtuous synergies for all those involved ».
