Oderzo “mosaic of emotions” relaunches trade and tourism

Logo, initiatives, events in the plans of manager Rui: “The city has an identity that is still too dormant”

ODERZO. A new logo to present the city to the territory, many events to attract tourism, including local ones, and small work groups to carry out their organization without requiring excessive effort from traders.

This is the project presented by Albino Rui, the district manager commissioned by Maria Scardellato’s council to imagine a relaunch for the historic center between a pandemic and a commercial crisis. The logo wants to recall the archaeological city and for this reason the motto “Opitergium. A mosaic of emotions “.

It should stand out in all the shops in the center, on the shoppers or on the sugar sachets, on the cups or on clothing. «In“ Opitergium ”there is the root which in Celtic refers to the market, to trade. It is our identity, something that engages us, ”Rui explained. Next to the motto there are four rectangles that represent as many mosaic tiles, to tell the territory: green stands for the countryside, ocher for trade, brown for terracotta traded in the Roman city, blue for Monticano.

“Oderzo still has a dormant identity, we must work hard to take on a role within the territory,” continued the manager. This is the reason for the many events conceived on a weekly or seasonal basis: evenings dedicated to aperitifs or to commercial sectors, for each season Oderzo should enhance the products of its territory.

The events would be organized by the traders themselves, as happened before the pandemic with Forò. The difference lies in the ways in which the appointments will be set up: no longer large events that drain great energy, we will start with small events managed by a small circle of traders, different for each appointment. Rui also imagined the creation of a card that offers discounts in shops, the possibility of cashback and that can be used to provide subsidies and aid to families: the money would then return to the territory.

There is no shortage of ideas on vacant shop windows: Rui has recovered the idea of Ascom, that of setting up temporary shops, but he wanted to keep the possibility of dedicating some to sports associations and Oderzo Cultura, to reinforce local tourism: in the view that the merchant works not only for himself but for the community », Rui’s words. Here is the idea of creating dishes and products with an opitergine theme, available in all the shops in the city.
