But in the elections – probably scheduled for mid-June, even if there are those who keep the mid-May hypothesis open – the citizens of Cesiomaggiore could realistically find only one candidate for mayor to vote on the ballot. At least this is the current situation,

If on the one hand, in fact, the re-nomination of the current mayor is expected in days, on the other hand nothing seems to be moving on the front of any alternatives. He certainly decided not to come back Wilmer De Bortoliwho had challenged Zanella five years ago and whose team was the former mayor Gianni De Bastiani.

ZANELLA OK

At the moment he does not comment on the rumors, but the re-nomination of Carlo Zanella is almost certain and he is therefore aiming for the second term. In recent months, in addition to carrying out the administrative activity, the Cesiolino mayor has resumed work with a large part of the group of citizens who took to the field in support of him in 2017. A large group of people, who had undoubtedly contributed to the clear success at the polls.

There is a unanimous desire to continue the path undertaken, trying to carry out in particular those projects and initiatives that may have yet to be launched, but already quite concrete when it comes to ideas. There has been a slowdown during the five-year period, due to Vaia first and then to Covid, and therefore now we want to accelerate by identifying some fixed points that will certainly be part of the electoral program. For example, they range from the creation of a single school complex in Cesiomaggiore – worth 4 and a half million – to the construction of the new recycling center in the Pradenich area, just to mention a couple. Even the list of candidate councilors should not differ who knows how much compared to five years ago, except for some physiological changes.

NO MINORITY?

The more the days pass, the greater the risk that Zanella’s opponent will be the quorum. No alternatives seem to emerge from the current minority. The opposition leader Wilmer De Bortoli will certainly not take part in the electoral round. «I’m sorry without a doubt», he says, «but we are faced with a lack of adequate numbers to think about competing competitively. If you enter the electoral race, you must do it with the aim of winning and not just participating ». De Bortoli confirms a possible lack of alternatives to the Zanella list. “In fact, you don’t hear anything and now I think it’s time to come out. In any case, all this leads to a consideration: it is necessary to look at other territories, because in the long run, in municipalities like ours there will be more and more numbers in any sector: school, voluntary service and so on “.
