With the objective of continuing with the development of 28 activities that allow the financial and administrative stabilization of the institution, in addition to an adequate provision of health services to users, the National Government authorized extending for 12 months the measure of forced intervention of the ESE Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital, which from 2022 will be promoted by the National Health Superintendence.
The resolution emphasizes that the hospital must comply with the execution of the resources assigned in November 2023 by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection for $11,791 million, which must be allocated mainly to the payment of obligations with third parties for fees and services.
Likewise, it points out that the intervention requires effective coordination with the Government of Cesar to improve the flow of resources through the recovery of the portfolio already reconciled for $30,000 million, generated by services to the foreign population. “This will allow obtaining the flow of resources required to pay the obligations acquired, both from the current operation and from previous periods,” indicates executive resolution 006 of 2024, signed by the Minister of Health, Guillermo Alfonso Jaramillo.
Other activities that must be carried out are identifying and analyzing factors associated with prolonged stays of patients treated in the emergency room and hospitalization, developing continuous improvement actions; as well as develop epidemiological surveillance programs for the occurrence of adverse events, incidents and complications in the hospital, closing their management.
“The ESE has strengthened and guaranteed the provision of health services to the population, providing care with standards of clinical biosafety, quality, accessibility, effectiveness and opportunity, thus reducing health risks, managing to strengthen the trust of users and families in Valledupar, in the department of Cesar and its area of influence,” the resolution highlights.
The hospital has been able to gradually achieve sustainable productivity, taking advantage of its installed capacity, biomedical technology and, above all, its human resources, enhancing the achievement of positioning the ESE in the territory.
In the executive resolution, the Ministry resolves that, although the extension is for one year, that is, from January 14, 2024 to January 14, 2025, the National Health Superintendence may order the lifting or modification of the intervention measure. before the expiration of this extension.
