China Issues Opinion on Promoting Ecological Restoration

The Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council have released the “Opinions on Comprehensively Promoting the Construction of a Beautiful China,” outlining a roadmap for building a beautiful China with three stages and seven key areas.

In Ma’anshan City, Anhui Province, a century-old mining ecological management watershed restoration has been underway to tackle the ecological debt of the past. The barren hills have been covered with soil and greened, and the mines have been treated and landscaped. Aoshan Geocultural Park, a former open-pit iron mine, has been transformed into a picturesque lakeside area, attracting tourists and locals.

Additionally, Dianchi Lake in Yunnan Province has seen a remarkable improvement in its ecology, becoming a home for a variety of animals and plants. Xinghai Wetland, located in the south of Kunming, offers a beautiful view of the lake and is an important habitat for red-billed gulls and other wildlife.

Furthermore, the Yellow River Wetland Park in Hequ County, Shanxi Province, has seen an increase in the population of migratory birds, including swans, shelducks, and mallards. The park has become an important wintering ground for these birds, with efforts to protect and preserve the habitat for them.

Shenzhen Baoan District has also worked on building a roaming public space network, connecting the mountains, sea, rivers, and forests into the city to provide the public with green living spaces. The Binhai Cultural Park offers a scenic and leisurely environment for residents to enjoy a green and healthy life.

All these efforts are part of China’s ongoing commitment to ecological restoration and building a beautiful, sustainable environment for its citizens. It signifies a step toward a greener and more environmentally friendly future for the country.
