This Tuesday night, Warner released the first trailer for Joker 2: Folie à Deux. In the clip you can see Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix) admitted to the gloomy Arkham asylum, where he meets a woman with whom he begins to have a relationship. The trailer begins with a screenshot of the first meetings between Arthur and another of the inmates in the infamous Gotham City asylum, Harleen Quinzel (Lady Gaga)who seems interested in interacting with him.
“He is no longer alone”it is announced, and from that moment images begin to appear that show the two of them together, in love and, of course, totally crazy.
At the end of March, several American media announced that the long-awaited sequel based on the life of the most important villain of the DC publisher would be, in the style of red Mill o Oh mama!, a musical that would offer reinterpretations of more than 15 popular songs. According to reports, one of those songs is “That’s Entertainment” from the 1953 musical. The Band Wagon, made famous by Judy Garland.
Although in this first trailer not many more details about the plot are given. They are seen outside the asylum, being cheered by a group of people. But it is not clear if this is a fantasy created by them. Also, they are dancing and on stage on several occasions.
The prominence of music in this second installment had already been anticipated some time ago, although the film’s director of photography, Lawrence Sher, assured that it is not a musical film. «The music is important for the film and for the characters, but I don’t know if it is a musical.
