A bill has been approved by the Regional Council to complete the communication network in the Valle d’Aosta area more quickly
The Valle d’Aosta regional council approved a law proposal to speed up the completion of the 700 km network of fiber optic cables in the region. The regulatory text, developed together with Celva, simplifies the authorization and construction procedures.
The bill introduces a specific discipline for interventions managed by the one-stop shop of local authorities. There will be no need for opinions, no impediments or other acts of consent from administrations other than the Region and the local Aosta Valley authorities. It is possible to proceed with the laying of cables on the basis of a certified notification of start of activity (Scia) in cases where the interventions do not involve interference with areas or assets protected by the various sector regulations.
“For the Autonomous Region of Valle d’Aosta – the regional councilor for innovation declares in a note – it is a priority to confirm the choice of a modern communication infrastructure, such as fiber, at the service of its economy and in the interest of citizens, local institutions, businesses and tourists “. Through “the public investments of the past and by encouraging private ones to connect the fiber to private users, we can try to transform a limit into an opportunity for our mountain territory”.
