The international artistic community has also mobilized to counter the humanitarian emergency in Ukraine, with various solidarity initiatives.

From March 10, Pictures for purpose starts, a Dutch initiative originally born in 2020, in response to the covid-19 pandemic. Until 24 March it is possible to buy from their website prints of photographs by international artists such as Alec Soth, Anastasia Samoylova, Rineke Dijkstra, Coco Capitàn and young Ukrainian authors such as Elena Subach and Julie Poly. The price is 125 euros for each print and the proceeds will go to World central kitchen, an organization that provides fresh meals to people forced to flee their homes and to those engaged in the field in dealing with the emergency.

Until March 16 it is possible to contribute by purchasing art prints with the Art4Ukraine initiative, which aims to raise funds to help refugees fleeing Ukraine by finding them a safe place and medical assistance. Funds will go to Choose love and War child organizations. All the photographs for sale were taken in Ukraine by both international artists (including Martin Parr, George Georgiou, Vanessa Winship and Donal Weber) and Ukrainians, such as Lesha Berezovskiy, Dimitri Bogachuk, Lyubov Slyusareva, Taras Bychko, Viacheslav Poliakov, Yelena Yemchuk , Ira Lupu and Yana Franz.

The British organization Fast forward: women in photo on its Instagram profile has activated the sale of some prints of some Ukrainian artists: the price is 50 pounds and even larger amounts can be donated. You can buy them until 12 March. The proceeds will be donated to Ukrainian organizations committed to helping civilians, especially women and children, such as Ukranian womanity, FreeUa and Patriot.
