THE MOURNING
Pieve di Cadore mourns Benito De Biasi, who died at 89 following an illness on the night between Wednesday and Thursday. The funeral on Saturday at 11 in Santa Maria Nascente. He leaves two children and an established company that produces stoves and which, thanks to his commitment and that of his son Massimo, has been synonymous with the “warmth” that warms many families for over 50 years. In addition to being a successful entrepreneur, De Biasi has also done his part as a lucid and circumspect administrator, guided by three fundamental attitudes: never back down, be consistent, participate actively. Director and then president of local sports clubs (Tai football, the hockey team, Cadore Nuoto), even more significant was his participation in local political life. Having abandoned the PCI following the invasion of Hungary in 1956, De Biasi joined the Social Democratic Party (PSDI). In the municipality of Pieve he was a member of the building commission, president of the municipal assistance body (ECA) and for eight years on the hospital board of directors. Finally he was president of the artisan consortium born in Ansogne di Perarolo.
