PIEVE DI CADORE. It slips from the peak of Roda and loses his life.
At around 2 pm today, May 8, 118 answered a call from a hiker, who said he had fallen from the Roda Peak, was injured and was slipping. The man, however, had no longer answered the calls from the Central, which was trying to locate him.
Provided the coordinates of the summit, the helicopter of the Suem di Pieve di Cadore started the overflight, unfortunately identifying the lifeless body of the hiker under a rock jump, a hundred meters lower than the ridge path.
Disembarked with a 60-meter winch, the helicopter rescue technician equipped a fixed rope, awaiting the arrival of two rescuers from Pieve di Cadore, boarded by the ambulance in support of the operations. Reassembled and embarked, the body was secured in the snow in an easier point for the helicopter recovery maneuvers.
The body was then transported to the Nebbiù football field, to be entrusted to the hearse. From a first hypothesis, the hiker was near the top, when he lost his balance sliding along the steep side wall, from where he could only sound the alarm, before tumbling among the rocks.
