Prefect Rome, ‘great attention on sporting events’ – News

“There is a great deal of attention on all events. There are spectator-by-spectator control services. Also because I remember that in November 2015, which remained famous for the Bataclan events, there was an attempted attack on the Stade de France. So certainly there is attention.
Each event is studied and analyzed and services are set up to be able to manage it safely”, said the prefect of Rome, Lamberto Giannini – on the sidelines of the conference “Cybercrime and cyberterrorism, prevention and contrast strategies” underway at Lumsa University – talking about the safety of the sporting events that will take place in Rome in the coming months.
“The international situation is there for all to see, it is a complicated situation that changes every day and not always for the better. In Italy there is a very high level of attention, great prevention, there is a great deal of work and a great presence in the area. We work day and night to provide security. From time to time we need to look to see if any further indications or signs of attention can emerge from the evolution of the situation, even on the web.”
“No different stories emerged, but there was a need to meet and take stock of the situation.
Meet with the Jewish community and take stock of the situation” said the prefect of Rome, Lamberto Giannini, speaking of the meeting of the Provincial Committee for order and security of Rome which was held yesterday.
On the sensitive objectives of the Jewish community in the capital, the prefect added that “the security levels are very high. It is difficult to increase them further. What is needed is to keep them constant and not let the attention drop”.
