President Acore Huila invites to march

This Sunday, April 21, Colombia is preparing for a new day of demonstrations against the policies of President Gustavo Petro.

The call from the opposition has gained a broader scope, attracting various sectors of society with different motivations. Thousands of Colombians are expected to come out to express their discontent with the policies and actions implemented by the current government.

Danilo Andrés Arboleda Martínez, colonel (r) of the Army and president of the Colombian Association of Retired Officers (Acore) Huila Section, revealed more details about this demonstration and the reasons behind it.

What is the motivation to go out?

“Everyone is being called to unite against many unpopular measures that this Government wants to take where they want to lead us with a speech of change, to a dictatorship, to become a socialist country. That is the motivation, to protest for the rights we have as Colombians to demonstrate against these reforms that are being proposed.”

How do you see Colombia under the leadership of Gustavo Petro?

“We are veterans of the Public Force, reservists, we see the panorama as very complicated, especially with the discourse of Total Peace, we see clear violations by the ELN, the FARC, the bilateral cessations, we see our Huila territory victimized again for terrorism. Intimidation through explosive devices, in Neiva there are already 10 and that is the way to intimidate civil society to pressure them to pay extortion.”

“Completely! And the Huila territory was revictimized again. We have influences from various FARC structures, for me there are no dissidences. We have a brutal setback, extortion and kidnapping have increased and the setback to the security and coexistence of Colombians is very clear.”

Impeachment of Gustavo Petro?

“According to article 109 for the violation of electoral limits, it is very clear, whoever violates the law will have to submit to the law. If the electoral limits were violated, whoever it is has to face justice.”

It is worth mentioning that the mobilizations on April 21 in the city of Neiva will have two concentration points, starting at 8:00 am at the Colombian Horse monument, near the Soccer stadium and around 10:00 am at the Centro de Conventions, later these two will join together to reach Parque Santander.
