The recusal was filed by the deputy’s lawyers.

The head of the accusing body sent a letter to the high court.

Barbosa indicated that the lawyers “indicate that I have a confrontation with the President of the Republic, which led him to hold President Gustavo Petro publicly responsible for my safety and that of my family, and to announce that I will go to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights to request precautionary protection measures.

He recalled that the investigative exercise carried out by the delegated prosecutors is governed by the principles of independence and autonomy.

“In this framework, the jurisdictional decisions adopted by prosecutors in criminal proceedings under their charge are only subject to the rule of law. As it happens with the decisions of the judges in their rulings ”, he affirmed.
