I WANT. Even Quero, after Mellame and Rivai, has equipped itself with patrols to oppose the action of thieves, who in recent days have carried out a series of thefts in the town. Small groups of citizens have indeed moved martedì night in the streets of the city center and the immediate suburbs to detect possible suspicious movements and report them to the police, thus adding to those who remained in their homes, awake behind the windows. One sighting, in particular, sent the residents into fibrillation, when some villagers found the thieves a few steps from the front door and asked for help by finding the collaboration of neighbors.
Another fact, however, bodes well: the video surveillance system that monitors various places in the Quero Vas area has captured the movements of the band. All the useful material was delivered to the carabinieri, who are now continuing with the investigations.
Meanwhile, yesterday afternoon the alarm went off also in Fonzaso: two thefts were reported in a house in via Nogare and via Arsiè. The social tam tam alerts residents to be careful.
SOLIDARITY FIRST
It was raining the day before yesterday and it was particularly dark. Ideal conditions for those who have to carry out some theft or move with discretion. And here, however, that in the midst of a bitter news story, an act of solidarity also emerges, like that carried out by Silvano Susanetto, president of the local association of blood donors.
In the middle of the night some villagers found themselves with the thieves a stone’s throw from the front door, along the fields in via per Schievenin and knocked on his door, asking for help. Silvano opened and did not hesitate to go out to help them.
“I only did what needed to be done,” says Susanetto, “and so we went around together to see if we could spot the thieves. We went down on Valentine’s Day and other people joined us after us, who in the meantime were patrolling Quero, in addition to the Carabinieri. We weren’t able to see them anymore and who knows where they went. They could have moved anywhere. The alert and the tension between us citizens is maximum ».
And the next few days will probably be no different from the previous ones. Calling 112 is essential for Susanetto, but also citizens’ action. “If a volunteer travels the country on his own and sees something in the fields, for example, that’s fine: if no one moves from home, no one sees anything and nothing is resolved. Helping yourself now is important ».
POLICY DISAPPOINTED
«What we Querese displease most» underlines Susanetto, «is the attitude of politics in events of this type, not only towards us, but also towards the work of the Carabinieri. People are disappointed and embittered, because they already know that even if a thief were caught red-handed and arrested, the next day he would already be free, frustrating everyone’s efforts. Those who steal, on the other hand, must end up in prison, without arguing. The law does not protect us citizens and not even the work of the police, who risk taking them and find themselves with their hands tied. There is no justice ».

The thieves were filmed both by cameras positioned on the territory and by some private individuals. It is a gang of three or four people.
