Quito associations ask that the curfew be focused on the traffic light system. The same one that was used in the pandemic to identify the cities with the most infections.

In a meeting held by the Economic Development Commission of the Municipality of Quito; Quito Chamber of Commerce; Councilor Andrés Campaña and Wilson Merino and private companies such as Positive Constructors, Association of Pichincha Restaurants (AGREPI) and Chamber of Small and Medium Enterprises of Pichincha (CAPEIPI) requested that The curfew is focused to help encourage commerce in Quito.

In this plan they ask the National Government to implement a traffic light system for the application of curfew and other measures of the country, depending on the context of each territory, have adaptive measures regarding the situation of each city that allow extending hours and influencing economic recovery.

Traffic lights were the system in which during the pandemic it was used to categorize the provinces according to the reality that each one experienced due to the virus. There were three types of traffic lights: red, orange and green, Depending on the color, different restrictions will be implemented.

And the colors changed as the infection numbers decreased.

In this case they ask that the cities or provinces that are most affected by insecurity are in red Depending on the number of incidents, those that are showing numbers in yellow and those that have almost no incidents or none are in green.

This is giving as an example that in Quito from January 8 to 17 there were 121 alerts of which 101 were false alarms. (EC)
