The National Government’s strategy to recover the Pan American Games
Regarding what will happen from now on to recover the Pan American Games, Petro assured that “the eight million dollars, for the granting of rights to the Pan American Games, are ready. At any time they could be transferred if the other party to the agreement so he considers it.”
In addition, he stated that he will visit Chile and meet with Neven Ilic, the president of the Pan American Sports Organization, to discuss the holding of the Pan American Games in 2027. On the other hand and in the same line of recovering the Pan American Games, Petro entrusted Chancellor Álvaro Leiva to communicate by telephone with the leaders and ministers of the 41 countries that participate in this sporting event, with the aim of reaching to agreements and “enlist majorities” so that the games are held in Barranquilla and the Caribbean.
