The book was on the SPIEGEL bestseller list for months in 2023 and was translated into many languages.

Background: plot of Roman’s “When Grandmother Danced in the Rain”
Three women, three generations, connected by love and a tragic post-war secret: When Juni returns to her deceased grandparents’ house on the small Norwegian island, she discovers a photo: It shows her grandmother Tekla as a young woman with a German soldier. Who is the unknown man? Her mother can’t ask June anymore. The relationship between her grandmother and her mother was always overshadowed by something unsaid. June’s search for the truth takes him to Berlin and the small town of Demmin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which was overrun by the Russian army after the surrender. Juni realizes that it’s about much more than a hidden love. And that their discoveries have consequences for their own happiness.
