Real Madrid sealed its place in the final of the Spanish Super Cup after beating Atlético de Madrid 5-3 in an exciting match played in Riyadh on Wednesday, January 10.

Atlético de Madrid took the lead with a goal from Mario Hermoso in the 7th minute, but Real Madrid responded with determination. Antonio Rüdiger leveled the score after 20 minutes, followed by Mendy, who put the whites ahead with a 2-1 lead after 23 minutes. However, Antoine Griezmann left his mark by equalizing again with a memorable goal in the 37th minute. In the second half, an own goal by Kepa gave Atlético the lead at 3-2 in the 78th minute. Dani Carvajal managed to tie the score at the bell, sending the game to extra time. In this extra time, an own goal by Savic was decisive (116′), and although Brahim scored for Atlético in added time (120+2), Real Madrid secured their 5-3 victory.
