Registry increases fees for procedures

The National Registry of Civil Status announced through Resolution No. 1413 of 2024 the establishment of new rates for the services offered by the entity, both nationally and abroad.

These rates will come into effect as of March 1 and reflect an increase of 9.28%. corresponding to the percentage variation of the consumer price index (CPI) of the previous year, as certified by the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE).

Among the services affected by this rate adjustment are those related to duplicates, rectifications of citizenship cards, identity cards, and issuance of copies and civil registration certificates. It is important to highlight that those citizens who have made the payment during the months of January and February 2024 for any of these concepts will have the possibility of advancing their process until March 31, 2024. If they do not do so before this date, they must contact again to the bank or postal operator authorized by the National Registry and pay the difference corresponding to the new rate.

The same procedure applies to those citizens who made their payment until December 31, 2023 and do not complete their procedure before next February 29. In both cases, they are urged to take the necessary measures to avoid inconveniences and adjust to the new established rates.

Regarding payment methods, the banking entity authorized by the National Registry is Banco Popular, with account number 220-012-11008-6 in the name of the Revolving Fund of the National Registry of Civil Status. In addition, postal payment service operators such as Efecty, Matrix y Servicios, Supergiros and 4/72 are available. For those citizens who are abroad, they must make the payment directly at the corresponding consulate.
