In a press conference, Chimborazo was presented as the venue for the National Games.

The Government of Chimborazo was the scene of an important press conference in which local and national authorities participated, Sebastián Palacios; Sports Minister, Iván Vinueza; Governor of Chimborazo, Hermel Tayupanda; Chimborazo prefect, John Vinueza; mayor of Riobamba, Fabián Falconí; FDCh inspector and local authorities were present. During this event, the province of Chimborazo was officially announced as the venue for the 2023 National Youth Games, which will take place in August of this year. Working groups were established to guarantee the coordination and success of this important event, addressing key aspects such as: health, safety and logistics. The announcement of Chimborazo as the venue for the 2023 National Youth Games marks an important milestone for the province and reflects recognition of its ability to host large-scale sporting events, proof of this was the recent BMX Pan American Championship. During the press conference, the authorities highlighted the importance of these games in promoting sports and youth participation, as well as boosting tourism and the local economy.
