Roy Barreras to María Fernanda Cabal

by admin

In the midst of a growing controversy over the health of President Gustavo Petro, Senator María Fernanda Cabal of the Democratic Center sparked a heated debate by suggesting a hypothesis about the president’s recent absences from public events, as well as his habit of covering his head, in all types of public events.

Speculation intensified after Cabal suggested in an interview that the president’s actions could be related to Santeria practices. The senator mentioned that President Petro had cut his hair, suggesting a possible connection with similar rituals performed by the late Hugo Chávez. Furthermore, he stated that the ambassador to the United Kingdom, Roy Barreras had confessed his participation in such practices during a session in Congress.

Cabal’s statements provoked an immediate response from Barreras, who flatly rejected the senator’s claims. In a message on social networks, Barreras declared: “Funny María Fernanda Cabal (because believe it or not, she is a joke even though she is perverse): Are you delirious (or dreaming of me perhaps?).” Barreras categorically denied sharing information about her alleged involvement in Santeria practices, emphasizing her dedication to Amazonian medicinal plant research and her Catholic faith.

Cabal’s response was immediate, accusing Barreras of being a liar and lacking the truth. The senator stated that the ambassador had admitted to being Catholic and Santero in the past, and she questioned his credibility in changing his position as appropriate.
