More and more children are equipped with smartphones and internet access, for many young people it is hard to imagine everyday life without it. But there are also dangers lurking when children and young people consume Internet content without sufficient skills.
The Braunau Greens councilor Elma Pandzic is therefore very important information and education in this area. The Greens submitted an application for financial support for WebChecker workshops at elementary schools in Braunau. These workshops are not new for the educational institutions, they are offered in two modules by the state of Upper Austria. Children learn the most important rules of conduct on the Internet.
The Greens made the application to take over 50 percent of the costs of 7 euros per student for all elementary schools in the city. SP local councilor Rudi Eiblmaier submitted a counter-motion: 100 percent of the costs should be covered. The council unanimously approved the motion.
It was also decided to assume the costs of the noise study for the B148, the B156 and the L502 Simbacher Straße. As reported several times, the traffic on the B148 has increased dramatically in recent years. “It has become a situation that is difficult for the residents to bear,” emphasized FP Transport Committee Chairman Hans Pill. Once the report has been drawn up, further sensible steps can be taken to relieve the burden on the population.
Speaking of traffic: As reported, the mobility concept for the city was passed unanimously. This was cross-party work. Although the concept has been decided, concrete measures have not yet been taken. There will certainly be a need for discussion, the municipal councils let it be known in advance – among other things, traffic in the city center is to be reduced and a 30 zone in the entire city area is to be decided.
