A group of about thirty people – including inhabitants of public housing and militants of the Il Cantiere social center – challenged the leader of the Lega Matteo Salvini this morning, who is expected for a meeting with citizens in Piazzale Selinunte, in Milan, in the popular district of San Siro. “The politics of your party is the politics of hatred!” Shout the protesters. And again: “Salvini you are a clown, in this neighborhood we don’t need racism because it doesn’t solve our problems”. And then also: «Lega ladrona San Siro doesn’t want you».
In addition to the whistles, the residents also have signs that read: “The 49 million stolen by the League, use them for public housing” and others that make irony about Luca Morisi, the social media manager of Salvini and the Lega currently at the center of controversy for having sold liquid drugs – the so-called “rape drug” – to two twenty-year-old boys of Romanian origin after a party in his farmhouse between Mantua and Verona. There were moments of tension when, arriving from the other side of Piazzale Selinunte where a small group of supporters of the leader of the Carroccio was gathered, a lady approached the protesters shouting: “We pay public housing!”. The protesters responded by appealing with “racist!”. And always from the high side of the square, manned by the police, Salvini’s supporters shout “clowns”.
