Saturday and Sunday, in the village. For the first time also producers from abroad: France, Poland, Switzerland and Slovakia

SAN GIORGIO CANAVESE. After two years of forced stop due to the pandemic, the Land and biodiversity market. It is edition number 6 that is offered to the public with the title “Agriculture 2022: from resilience to reciprocity” and under the banner of “give without losing and taking without taking away”, from which many should draw inspiration.

It is the first event of the Festival of reciprocity, created as part of the Tre terre Canavesane project by the Municipalities of San Giorgio Canavese, Agliè and Castellamonte: among the rare administrations capable of overcoming the logic of the bell tower and broadening their horizons towards a promotion of high profile that unites and enhances the excellence of each. An event that for the first year takes on an international character with the participation of four European nations: France, Poland, Switzerland and Slovakia, present in the streets of the historic center of San Giorgio Canavese with eight producers. “A narrative that is getting longer and longer – summarizes in synthesis the city councilor Ivano Rean Conto, who coordinated the organization – and that leaves the experiential tourism of taste at the center without neglecting the cultural aspects thanks to the forays into the Vico Pazzariello market, well-known Neapolitan street artist, to collaborations with the Conservatory of Turin, with the choir Four Seasons, the dance school Danzando and Dance factory, and the Bandakadabra. Agriculture and culture together for an intelligent and sustainable growth that aims at the rebirth of a territory with many peculiarities and which deserves to be known outside its geographical borders. A market that is rediscovered as a place for sharing along a tasting path among a vastness of typical products, Slow food presidia from fourteen Italian regions and four European countries, for a total of sixty exhibitors. An opportunity to meet in which nature, landscape, history, traditions, flavors, typical products, agribiodiversity and artisan excellence of the territory intertwine and are enhanced. This explains the title we have chosen for the sixth edition ».

Behind the large open-air stage hides a philosophy of life: “It is the market of origins – underlines the mayor Andrea Zanusso – where it is quality that makes the difference, where producers, Slow food presidents, masters of taste, become protagonists with their peculiarities, with their stories and traditions that are mutually shared in an atmosphere of celebration and conviviality. From the difficulties of recent years, which have made resilience the obligatory character of approach to the project, the awareness is born today that only with reciprocity, or with the exchange and sharing of ideas, products and enhancement actions, thanks to the mastery of our artisans who love tradition and producers of the local excellence, new opportunities for growth and knowledge can arise ».

If the last edition before the pandemic (it was in 2019) had rediscovered what were the ancient salt routes, the prDespite going on stage, the story of Tornabuoni cigars sinks and collects together with vermouth, which is back in fashion for aperitifs, and Passito di Caluso, a meditation wine par excellence.
