Santa Lucia di Piave, the rejected list goes to the Prosecutor’s Office: “Punishing those who made us wrong”

Luca Bellotto and Riccardo Szumski ask to clarify the responsibilities and appeal not to vote: “Better the commissioner of Fantinel”. The outgoing mayor: “Punished for my militancy no vax”

SANTA LUCIA DI PIAVE. “This is an obstacle to the free exercise of the right to vote.” This is what is written in the complaint that the “Together for Saint Lucia” list filed with the Public Prosecutor’s Office in Treviso on the case of the exclusion of the same list from next Sunday’s local elections. “This is a vulnus to democracy – commented the outgoing mayor Riccardo Szumski – and, as far as I am concerned, I do not exclude that the affair can be interpreted or interpreted as a retaliation against my no vax militancy”.

Luca Bellotto, the mayoral candidate who remains excluded from the electoral game, has reconstructed with the press, together with Szumski and other candidate councilors, the various passages of presentation of the list itself and of the notification of non-admission. Steps that have been reconstructed in the documentation brought to court. “We describe the facts as they happened on the basis of precise testimonies – pointed out Bellotto -, starting from the fact that there were corrections to be made, which we have provided, but for the aspects subsequently disputed, we were told that it was everything is OK”.

The outgoing mayor admits that the last responsibility “is obviously ours, of the list”, but we ask the Prosecutor, with the complaint, to verify if there has been incorrect behavior on the part of the persons reported. Bellotto again: «When the person in charge of the procedure is told that“ the list is in order ”, what are we to believe? Obviously there are no problems ». For Bellotto and Szumski there would have been “at least questionable conduct”. “And if these conducts took place before the elections, it is evident that we are worried that they may be repeated in other procedures after the vote, as there is no opposition in the municipal council. Ours are at least doubts and for this reason we ask the judiciary to ascertain the truth ».

Starting from this assumption, both Bellotto and Szumski have once again invited the voters of Santa Lucia di Piave not to go to the polls to miss the quorum, so that the commissioner arrives. “The commissioner – explains the candidate for mayor – would last a maximum of one year and would allow the democratic logic to be restored with more political forces confronting each other”. For Szumski it is also a question of program: the one presented by the only admitted list (submitted by Fiorenzo Fantinel) “is too generic, inconclusive and does not give continuity to the programmatic and development paths already started, such as the completion of Palazzo Ancillotto with further hypothesized activities “.
