The headquarters of the Non-Governmental Organization Save the Children, in Guatemala, was raided by Public Ministry personnel in response to an investigation being carried out into alleged abuses of migrant minors.
In a statement, the NGO expressed its confusion and defended its almost 50 years of ensuring the rights of Guatemalan children, as well as in other countries in the region, and stated that the raid was carried out without a specific accusation.
The Guatemalan authorities have not yet provided details in this regard, while the transnational investigation continues with the aim of deducing responsibilities.
