The Attorney General’s Office (FGR) announced that the sentencing hearing is being held in the Specialized Asset Forfeiture Court against David Victoriano Munguía Payés and his family.
The former Minister of Justice and Public Security, Munguía Payés, is accused of diverting $4,638,164.91 that came from the State for the benefit of himself and his family group.
With these diverted funds, the former official purchased assets and investments in fixed-term deposits. Therefore, the FGR requests that 9 properties, including a beach ranch, 2 vehicles and 9 fixed-term deposits owned by Munguía Payés, pass into the hands of the State.
In addition, the former minister is being prosecuted criminally for the crimes of acts of corruption and money laundering, for his unjustified increase in assets.
The accused relatives are identified as Blanca Lidia López Méndez, mother of the former minister; Blanca Patricia Munguía Molina, daughter and José Roberto Dheming Valle, brother.
