The Plan will make it possible to monitor the circulation of the virus on the territory and promptly intervene in the event of outbreaks, with the priority objective, as President Zaia underlined, to keep schools open.

CONEGLIANO. The first 134 kits were delivered to Isiss Cerletti in Conegliano on the morning of Tuesday 14 September as part of the monitoring plan for the circulation of SARS-CoV-2 in primary and secondary schools in the Veneto region.

Oenology is part of a first group of Institutes that will involve a total of 11,625 students at regional level, over the course of a few weeks, who will be tested every 15 days, distributed in 72 institutes spread over 7 provinces and identified by the Regional School Office. after a confrontation with school leaders.

The institutions involved, called “sentinel schools”, include, as regards the Ulss 2 territory, in addition to Cerletti, a second high school in Treviso (Istituto Giorgi-Fermi) and some primary and secondary schools of the Coneglianese area ( IC1 and IC2 Conegliano).

The Plan will make it possible to monitor the circulation of the virus on the territory and to intervene promptly in the event of outbreaks, with the primary objective, as President Zaia underlined, to keep schools open.

The delivery of the kits to Cerletti was followed by a moment of training by the Ulss staff (Dr.ssa Vian and Dr.ssa Cibin) in order to ensure effective collection of the samples.

Method of monitoring

So far, Cerletti has acquired over a hundred informed consents. To those, among the boarders and semi-boarders who have already joined the initiative, a kit, labeled with their personal data, containing the molecular salivary test was delivered today. The test will be carried out in do-it-yourself mode and subsequently deposited by the students in a sealed box set up by Ulss 2 inside the school. The staff of the Prevention Service will collect the box, which will be delivered to the Microbiology laboratory which will communicate the report within 24 hours.

The withdrawal of the first champions at Cerletti is scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 15 September.

“For us, the launch of the monitoring plan – comments Mariagrazia Morgan, Cerletti school manager – is a great opportunity to be able to return to face-to-face teaching on a permanent basis. Hence the hope that all our students will join the initiative, considering that for our school, monitoring, together with compliance with the rules, is doubly important, as we have a boarding school. Already last year, thanks to the collaboration with the Ulss 2 Prevention Department, we had started regular checks, with the sending of students to the Covid Point of the Zoppas Arena. This year, thanks to the monitoring plan, which provides for less “invasive” salivary tests that are feasible in self-administration, everything will be simpler “.

“The resumption of schools – underlines the general manager, Francesco Benazzi – represents an important challenge for everyone, with the aim of being able to archive Dad. The collaboration with families and schools, already started in an extremely profitable way last year, will be very important to minimize and promptly intercept any positivity. The hope is that there will be maximum collaboration on the part of children and families as regards compliance with prevention, vaccination and adherence to the monitoring plan ”.
