Thanks to the 2-0 home success against Crotone, Picerno has qualified for the second round of the Serie C play-offs: on Saturday 11 May, away, they will face Taranto.
In the match played in the evening at the Curcio stadium, in front of around a thousand spectators, the Lucanians scored in the 22nd minute of the first half with captain Esposito and in the seventh minute of injury time in the second half with D’Agostino.
Even a draw would have been enough for the team coached by Emilio Longo (sixth at the end of the regular season in group C) to get through to the round, given that the Calabrians finished ninth. In its history, Picerno had never managed to get past the first round of the play offs for promotion to Serie B.
