9th interdisciplinary symposium for women in the MINT area “ISINA” will take place from March 13th to 14th, 2024 at Chemnitz University of Technology – registration possible until February 29th, 2024

With the Interdisciplinary Symposium for Women in MINT (ISINA), the MINT Council of Women Scientists at Chemnitz University of Technology (TUC) has been committed to highlighting career paths for women in research for almost ten years. The 9th ISINA conference will take place from March 13th to 14th, 2024 in the Weinhold Building of the TUC, Reicghenhainer Straße 70. The symposium includes interdisciplinary specialist contributions, soft skills workshops, the introduction of several employers and laboratory tours in the TUC’s MINT faculties. This year, the conference program includes the workshops “Storytelling in Science”, “The Voice as an Instrument for Scientists” and “Designing Effective Academic Posters”. Registration for the symposium is possible via an online form by February 29, 2024 possible.

Karla Kebsch, equal opportunities officer at Chemnitz University of Technology, and Prof. Dr. Olfa Kanoun, holder of the measurement and sensor technology professorship at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at the TUC. They worked in cooperation with the TUC’s MINT Council of Women Scientists and the members of the Association for the Promotion of Gender and Diversity. V. put together the program.

Background: ISINA

As part of the ISINA format, committed women from science and business come into conversation. Students, young scientists and women in leadership positions exchange ideas on current topics and trends from the spectrum of “career paths for women”. In addition, “ISINA” offers the opportunity to make technical and professional contacts. The focus is also on professional and interdisciplinary exchange between the natural sciences and technical subjects as well as the networking of women in the MINT sector with the aim of building promising collaborations.
