During yesterday, Friday, January 5, the first day of the agenda of activities within the Ecuador-Peru Binational Meeting took place. There was the signing of agreements, which allow strengthening the ties of brotherhood and work between the two states.
The Peruvian delegation was received in the Hall of Mayors of the local town hall. At the event, the mayor of the Loja canton, Franco Quezada Montesinos, welcomed those who arrived from the neighboring country to sign twinning agreements, which will allow work in different areas, especially tourism.

Eine Martínez Huaches, mayor of the municipality of Tabaconas (Cajamarca Department, Peru), highlighted the importance of this meeting, with the aim of moving together towards social, economic and environmental development, “improving governance between the two countries.”
The authority spoke about the development of projects, one of them, the completion of the Fourth Road Axis – which will benefit several towns such as Bellavista, Chinchipe, Zumba, La Balsa – require an adequate connection between Loja and towns in the neighboring country of Peru.
Frans Obaco Carrión, president of the Provincial Chamber of Tourism of Loja (Captur-Loja), agreed with this criterion, who mentioned that these meetings allow working on plans for tourist and economic development.
Likewise, he noted that it is urgent to conclude the work on the Fourth Road Axis, a work that has been unfinished for several years.
Conferences
Also yesterday afternoon, at the Captur-Loja facilities, there was a meeting between businessmen from Ecuador and Peru, who exchanged experiences in tourism. Likewise, conferences related to archeology, communication, business, among others, took place. (YO)
