ISTRANA. Six months without landings and take-offs on the Istrana runway. An unprecedented silence will be felt around the runway of the historic Treviso military base from Monday. the announcement was made yesterday by the Ministry of Defense.

The stop will start from Monday, indicatively, the date on which the flight activity of 51st Flock it will be transferred to the military base of Rivolto, in Friuli, in the province of Udine. Obviously, both the military and all the ordinary technical activities will remain in Istrana, but not the Amx and Eurofighters who will be based elsewhere for the summer and autumn.

The move, explained by the Ministry, it was decided to allow the completion of modernization works of the Istrana military airport; some underground services must be reconfigured along the runway and it is impossible to operate with ordinary training and flight activities active.
