Councilor Bertschy: we must be ready for winter. The winter season can start in complete safety

Minimizing the risks to ensure the winter season 2021/2022 in Valle d’Aosta: with these common intentions, yesterday the working table between the Region and the Valle d’Aosta mountain and ski operators met.

The meeting was attended by the Avif representatives with regard to cableways, the Aosta Valley Ski Instructors Association, Asiva and the High Mountain Guides Union to start discussing the opening of the ski slopes after a winter season canceled by the Covid-19 virus and restrictions. In the next few days other discussions will take place with the managers of the cross-country trails, local authorities and trade associations and in parallel the Department of Health is organizing the activities of the trauma centers.

The main unknown factor to be addressed remains the virus. The effects of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 on the trend of infections and hospitalizations are still not clear and it is not possible to predict whether, with a new wave, the Italian government will introduce other heavy restrictions in the coming months that could compromise once again the ski season.

“All together we want to relaunch the image of the mountains and the opportunities offered by ski resorts”, says in a note the regional councilor for economic development Luigi Bertschy, also announcing the opening of a comparison between the realities of the Alpine arc to define strategies , common lines and priorities.

“Our common goal – he adds – is to be ready for the winter and to create the best conditions for the start of the winter season which we believe can leave in complete safety”.
