President Xi Jinping of China and President Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan continue to strengthen ties and promote the building of a community with a shared future between the two nations. The recent state visit of President Mirziyoyev to China has led to a decision to develop an all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership and promote the construction of a community with a shared future between China and Uzbekistan from a higher starting point.
President Mirziyoyev praised President Xi Jinping’s efforts in poverty alleviation, stating his deep admiration for the Chinese leader’s dedication to the cause of poverty alleviation. This is evident in the preface he wrote for the Uzbek version of “Escape from Poverty”, where he specifically quoted several passages of President Xi Jinping’s classic statements.
The heads of state of China and Uzbekistan have been working closely to develop bilateral relations and promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries. President Mirziyoyev’s visit to China was his first overseas visit this year, showing the significance of the relationship between the two nations.
Under the strategic guidance of heads of state diplomacy, China-Uzbekistan relations have achieved leapfrog development in recent years, with fruitful cooperation in various fields. This includes the joint construction of a 1 GW photovoltaic project in Uzbekistan by a Chinese company, marking a significant achievement in the development of clean energy and the joint building of a green Silk Road.
In addition to economic cooperation, the friendship between China and Uzbekistan has also led to the construction of the Olympic City project in Tashkent, which is designed and constructed by a Chinese company. This project is of “historic significance” to Uzbekistan and will become the largest sports complex in Central Asia upon completion.
The achievements of China-Uzbekistan cooperation in various fields have effectively tightened the ties between the people of the two nations. The joint efforts in infrastructure projects and economic development have not only provided job opportunities but also facilitated better connectivity and cultural exchange between the two countries.
Looking to the future, China and Uzbekistan are committed to continuing their friendly cooperation and writing more new chapters of friendship on the road to jointly building a community with a shared future. The close relationship between the two countries has the potential to further promote regional stability and economic growth in Central Asia and beyond.
