The Government of El Salvador has developed, throughout this Holy Week, speed measurement controls, in order to guarantee the road safety of the population moving towards their different destinations.
With the implementation of these controls, the Vice Ministry of Transportation is vigilant to detect any driver who does not comply with the General Traffic and Road Safety Regulations. This Sunday’s deployment took place on the highway to Comalapa, near Olocuilta.
The VMT traffic managers confirmed that motorists carry the respective safety equipment, including the fire extinguisher. This type of control devices allow the prevention of traffic accidents and the protection of road users.
Speed traps are not only a reminder to comply with established limits, but also an effective tool to deter risky behavior on streets and highways. The staff of the Fund for Attention to Victims of Traffic Accidents (Fonat) joined in this work and distributed safety equipment.
Motorists should keep in mind that the maximum speed allowed on roads is 90 kilometers per hour. One of the calls made by the authorities is to comply with the regulations and drive responsibly so as not to be part of the accident statistics.
