Fighting on the battlefield to live to death

He enlisted in the army in January 1948 and earned third-class merit in the battle of Liaoshen and second-class merit in the battle of Pingjin and Hainan Island.
In 1950, the Korean Civil War broke out and the war burned to the Yalu River. Sun Jingkun, who had just returned from the battlefield in Hainan, assembled Anton (now Dandong, Liaoning) with his troops and stood by to cross the river.
One day in October, the superiors issued an order, and Sun Jingkun crossed the Yalu River with the troops for the first time. At the moment of crossing the river, he and his comrades made a steel oath: “Defend the homeland, defend the fruits of victory!”
Sun Jingkun’s troops soon started a fierce battle with the US army in the Longshuidong area of North Korea. Sun Jingkun, who was charging ahead, was shot in the leg and sent back to Dandong for treatment. “I have been wounded for more than a month, and I always think about the troops and comrades who are fighting on the Korean battlefield.” Before the leg injury was clear, Sun Jingkun crossed the river for the second time and rushed to the front.
“Unexpectedly, as soon as I arrived in North Korea, I could not find the previous troops.” It turned out that the troops had left their original place according to the war arrangements. Sun Jingkun, who had returned from healing, lost contact with the troops and had to return home a second time.
As soon as he set foot on the land of the motherland, Sun Jingkun went straight to a certain organ of the Volunteer Army to inquire about the whereabouts of his troops. Two days later, he crossed the river for the third time to chase the troops. “Looking back and looking at the direction of home.” Sun Jingkun said, only after winning the battle can he go home and live a good life.
After going to North Korea for the third time, Sun Jingkun found the troops on the front of Shangganling, and immediately went into battle-Sanbei’s homeland, Sandu River, and Sun Jingkun’s voice of belief in “resisting the US and aiding Korea and defending the country” became louder and louder.

On October 27, 1952, Sun Jingkun broke into the 3rd Battalion Headquarters of the 357th Regiment and requested to join the war. The battalion commander immediately ordered him to reinforce the 161st Highland.
At that time, there were only the deputy company commander Zhi Quansheng and five soldiers of the 3rd battalion and 8th company on the position. They had carried the blasting tube and grenade in their arms, ready to die with the enemy at any time. At this moment, Sun Jingkun led the 9 soldiers from the camp, each carrying a box of grenades, using the enemy’s firepower to rush to the 161st Heights wittyly and bravely.

After returning to his hometown, Sun Jingkun handed over the organizational relationship to the village party branch, and the demobilization procedures to the local civil affairs department, without mentioning a word of merit. On the third day of returning to his hometown, Sun Jingkun picked up farm tools and went to work in the production team.
From then on, Sun Jingkun bowed himself and wrote the true qualities of soldiers and the original mission of the Communists on the ridges, planted in the land, and reflected in the hearts of the people.
