The Superintendency of the Financial System (SSF) participated in the first meeting to assist families benefiting from the Temporary Agricultural and Non-Agricultural Workers program, through H-2 visas, which is being coordinated by the Foreign Ministry of El Salvador together with the Agency United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
During the day, Vice Minister Cindy Portal welcomed the beneficiaries who worked in different companies in the United States in a regular, orderly and safe manner, who together with their families will receive a series of training, including finance.
The Superintendent of the Financial System, Mario Menéndez, highlighted during the session that the Superintendency works to guide temporary workers and returnees to better manage their income, guiding them to multiply it through savings and investment.
“The objective of this training is to help and support the families of people who are working temporarily in the United States to invest in their country, to transform consumption remittances into investment remittances,” said the vice minister.
The Superintendency will continue to support the actions of the Labor Mobility Program promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, contributing to the execution of financial education programs for temporary workers, the Salvadoran diaspora and the returned population.
