Two people were injured in a fight between teenagers on Friday evening. They showed stab wounds but are not life-threatening.

Two witnesses informed the Getevallei police on Friday evening around 8.25 pm that a fight was taking place with several people involved on 4de Lancierslaan in Tienen. Police found a large amount of blood at the scene. A little later they also found the two witnesses who had been present at the events but were not involved themselves.
The two victims were found nearby. It involved two 19-year-old men from Linter and Tienen. “They both suffered stab wounds and were taken to hospital for treatment. They are not in mortal danger,” said public prosecutor’s office spokeswoman Julie Plevoets.
The suspect could be identified based on the accounts of the witnesses and the victims. The 19-year-old from Linter has also been arrested. The public prosecutor’s office was contacted and ordered the lab to clear the traces at the scene of the incident. The public prosecutor’s office also stated that a medical examiner was appointed.
The suspect will be interrogated on Saturday. The investigation into the cause of the facts is still ongoing. (hsb)
