The championships will resume…on conditions – Football in Togo

As we announced to you, the expected tripartite meeting between the Ministry of Sports and Leisure, the Togolese Football Federation (FTF) and the Savanes League actually took place on Thursday in Lomé in the office of the Ministry in charge of Sport in Togo. Chaired by Dr Lidi Bessi Kama, this meeting was culminated by minutes focusing on ten major decisions.

After inviting the FTF to temporarily postpone the national championships, the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Dr Lidi Bessi Kama invited the FTF and the Savanes League to take part in a meeting. This following a letter sent by the leaders of the Savanes League to the Ministry of Sports and Recreation as well as to the Prime Minister. This note noted the injustice that the clubs of this league say they suffer by taking part in the various competitions organized by the governing body of football in Togo. The meeting initiated between the three parties resulted in ten major decisions this Thursday. Check them out:

1- The FTF is invited to take appropriate measures to resume the championships as soon as possible.

2- The minister invited the clubs of the Savanes region to continue the championships by making the related trips for the last two days of the first leg of D1 and the group stage of D2.

3- The minister exceptionally invited clubs in the region to submit to the MSL their estimated travel budgets for relocated home matches, to cover the last two days of the D1 phase and the group phase. of D2.

4- The ministry invited the FTF to take exceptional measures to grant special approval to the Mango or Dapaong stadium, in the name of appeasement and the preservation of social cohesion, so that home matches of football clubs the region can be played there for the return phase of D1.

5- The minister invited the president of the FTF to visit the savannah region to meet local football players.

6- The FTF announced the elimination of stadium rental fees for club matches from the Savanes region for the remainder of the current championships.

7- the minister invited the FTF to make a plea to FIFA, with a copy to the MSL, for the construction of a stadium in the savannah region.

8- The minister asked the FTF to speed up the process for the training of match officials and supervisors.

9- The State undertakes to build a stadium to FIFA standards in the Savanes region following studies carried out in 2017.

10- A report will be made to the President of the Republic by the Minister of Sports and Leisure.
