[NTDTV, Beijing time, February 20, 2022]Chinese Communist Party experts say they are studying new anti-epidemic policies in order to “align with the international community.” Critics pointed out that the “zero policy” has reached a dead end, and Beijing will give up sooner or later, but it may not be until after the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

European and American countries are liberalizing their epidemic prevention policies and gradually turning to “coexistence with the virus”. However, the CCP still insists on “zero tolerance and zero tolerance”. This policy seriously affects the economy and people’s livelihood, but it is regarded as a treasure by the authorities and is widely publicized.

However, a forum held by Renmin University of China on February 15 claimed to have been working on “new ideas” for the authorities.

According to Lugang media reports, the theme of the forum is epidemic prevention policies. Liu Yuanchun, vice president of the National People’s Congress, said in an online speech that he hopes to “open up some new ideas for our government and the people” when “the turning point of the epidemic is coming”.

Wu Zunyou, chief epidemiologist at the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said in his speech that with the relaxation of epidemic prevention measures in Europe and the United States, Beijing is faced with the choice of whether to change the “clearing” policy.

He said that if they continue to persevere, private enterprises and self-employed individuals will face enormous pressure to survive. But if it is completely released, “it is initially predicted that many people will be infected and die.”

Wu Zunyou said that many teams in China are studying prevention and control measures that are neither different from the current “dynamic clearing” nor completely “flattening”, trying to ensure the control of the epidemic and at the same time “in line with the international community”.

But he also said that such “measures have not yet come out.”

Previously, Shi Shan, a commentator, analyzed in the program “Is there a mistake” that the CCP has tied the apparently unsustainable “zero-clearing” policy to its political goals, which has actually put itself into a huge predicament. In the end, Beijing can only be forced to give up the reset, but it must wait for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China at the end of this year, and this year is enough time to cause great damage to the Chinese economy.
