After months of gray mornings, rain showers and dark evenings, we may get the first early burst of spring next week.

Long-range forecasts are always fickle, but we may get a taste of spring weather next week. “During the course of next week there will probably be a first early spring surge with maximum temperatures of 15 degrees and more,” weatherman Frank Deboosere said on X (Twitter).

The RMI confirms this weather picture, although the meteorological institute tempers the temperature forecast. “Thanks to a high-pressure area to the northeast of our country, the weather may become spring-like,” says the RMI in its expectations for the next fourteen days. “An easterly flow usually brings dry continental air to our country. It is often sunny and quite mild for the time of year with maximum temperatures around 12 or 13 degrees in the center or a little more locally.”

The weather will remain changeable next weekend. Saturday starts dry with clear spells, but in the afternoon a new rain zone will move across the country. Sunday will also be unstable with showers, but clear spells are also possible.

Meteorological spring starts on Friday.
