It is a pity that Turco died over 36 years ago.
Certainly a mistake, but his daughter Alberta, surprised and disappointed, sent a copy of the letter to our newspaper commenting: “We really don’t count for anything, we are just numbers for those behind a desk.” A fact like this brings back the pain for the loss of a loved one, who if he were alive would be 99 years old.
«My father – says Alberta – was a floor installer with his brother Vaniglio, born in 1914, and his twin Amadio. With the latter he shared every aspect of life, not only work, but also similar health problems that led both to death within a short time of each other. The singular case was then studied on a scientific level ».
Luigi also knew emigration, to Luxembourg and Switzerland. Of six brothers, only one sister is alive, who is 103 years old. Alberta turns over the letter headed by the Prevention Department of the Healthcare Company in her hands, where the father, evidently considered one of the immunization “dodgers”, is even offered the possibility to choose the type of drug to be inoculated. She is 62 years old, but the vaccine is postponing it: “We hear a lot, I’ll think about it later.”
“The oversight does not depend on us – specifies the mayor Fabrizio Pitton -, Luigi Turco was removed from the municipal register by his death in 1984”.
Thus the Department of Prevention: «We now learn that the Region has decided to send an invitation to vaccinate the elderly who have not yet done so, a commendable initiative. Sorry for the inconvenience, but the problem concerns the data management of the regional IT services, a complex system that can contain errors ».
