According to reports, “Hualong No. 1” is a third-generation pressurized water reactor nuclear power innovation achievement with completely independent intellectual property rights developed and designed by my country’s nuclear power enterprises. Fuqing Nuclear Power Units 5 and 6 are the global demonstration project of “Hualong No. 1”, and Unit 5 will be put into commercial operation in January 2021. After the “Hualong No. 1” demonstration project is fully completed, the annual power generation capacity of the two units will be nearly 20 billion kWh, which is of great significance to optimizing my country’s energy structure, promoting green and low-carbon development, and helping to achieve the goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.
“Hualong No. 1” has achieved mass construction in China, and projects such as Zhangzhou in Fujian and Changjiang in Hainan are progressing smoothly.
